Upgrade to ISO 9001:2015 from ISO 9001:2008

I Own a ISO 9001:2008 Company and want to upgrade it from 9001:2008 to 9001:2015. I need to do internal audit for it. I want to know how can i upgrade my iso certification and what new modules had been added into it. And how can i manage these new added modules

There can be two approaches to changeover your QMS to ISO9001:2015. One is through conducting Gap Analysis and is recommended. This will be a systematic approach, more thorough, and thus will bring better results.

The other is by conducting Internal Quality Audits where multiple audits may be required, as issues may keep surfacing time and again. Both paths are suggested as below:


Approach I - Conducting gap analysis (Recommended)

1.Sensitize / familiarize / train your people, at the least train your Internal quality auditors to ISO9001:2015

2.Get help to conduct a gap analysis (recommended). Alternatively get your trained team member/s to conduct a gap analysis.

3.Take action to close the gaps.

4.Conduct mock audit (external help) (optional), followed by Internal audit.

5.Take corrective actions after every audit.


Approach II - Conducting Internal Quality Audits

1.Train your Internal Quality Auditors to ISO9001:2015. Sensitize, familiarize other team members.

2.Conduct status audit (external help, optional but recommended). Conduct internal quality audits (multiple audits may be needed). Expect more number of NCs.

Take corrective actions after every audit.
