Selecting an AQL for Critical, Major, and Minor

I want to know if exist any procedure to establish AQL value during a Sampling Plan execution or if is a good strategy define approximately 0 AQL value for all critical defects; 1,5 AQL value for major defects and a 4,0 AQL value for minor defects.
In syntesis, I need to know how to define AQL value for any variable subject to inspection, when I´ll do a Sampling Plan.

First, I would like to recommend our product Snap Sampling Plans which makes sure you are using the correct AQL sampling plan for your inspection process. With the software, you can quickly create the sampling plan on the fly.

Prior to setting your AQL I recommend discussing this with your customer and / or reviewing your customer specification as they may have already determined this. Next, take a look at product inspection history. Has AQL been set up in the past? What are the current inspection rejection rates?

Also, be sure to define Critical vs Major vs Minor defintions for your product. The following paragraph really depends on your definitions.

There is no AQL defined as 0. You can use the lowest AQL which is .01 for Critical defects. For Major issues I would use less than 1.0 AQL. Minor of 4.0 looks reasonable.
