The ISO 9001 Logo
The ISO 9001 Logo is a copyrighted symbol by ANSI / ASQ. You cannot use their logo on any of your documents. Do not place it on your website, catalogs, signs etc. Your registrar could reject your registration based on this alone
However, if your company passed the ISO 9001 registration then you can create your own ISO 9001 symbol. This can be employed where ever you talk about your Quality Management Systems.
| You cannot use any ISO 9001 symbol or any document to state that your products are ISO 9001 registered. Registrars do not certify your products or services. They certify only your Quality Management System. |
During your registration audit or yearly suveillance audit, the auditor will question your company about your ISO 9001 symbols. They may review your website and your catalogs for inappropriate application. If they find an issue most likely they will give you a warning and require you to immediately fix the problem.
If you really want to impress your registrar, create a formal document on the appropriate use of the ISO symbols. Train the appropriate employees (sales, marketing, QA, Engineering etc.) on this policy. Document that training and file it. As soon as the auditor starts to talk about the logo policy, show them the training record.
Your registar may give you a logo that you can utilize for reference. Ask the registar if they have this availabile. The logo will usually include the registars name and an acceptable ISO 9001 emblem.
